About Me

"Once social change begins, it cannot be reversed. You cannot uneducate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore. We have seen the future, and the future is ours." Cesar Chavez

My name is Claudia Ramos and I am so excited to become part of the SASIC family.

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from Roosevelt High School (Go Rough Riders!) in 2004 and received my B.A. in English at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have served as a private tutor for the last 6 years to international students and spent most of my years at NEISD first as a permanent substitute teacher, then as an ESL T.A.

My interests are eclectic. I enjoy:
  • listening to music (black/symphonic/death metal, alternative/progressive rock, R&B, hip hop, old school rap, jazz, soul, and indie/folk just to name a few). I believe that without music, our lives would become meaningless. Words are power!
  • watching movies. I am not picky about movies as long as there is a purpose, a good script, and good acting.
  • reading books. I am an avid reader and totally not afraid to try new things.
  • spending time with friends and family.
  • writing stories.
  • taking pictures.
  • cooking (and eating!)
