Independent Reading

“The pen is mightier than the sword
We will be engaged in Independent Reading daily. Reading develops your mind; it exercises your brain. You will not only become a good reader, but a good speaker, listener, and writer. While reading is indeed fundamental to function in today’s society, remember that it also gives you power. Written ideas and books have changed the world and, ultimately, our destinies.  Everything around us is built from words!

Books are everywhere. You may borrow some from our class library, home, or from a public library. There are millions of books to choose from: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, graphic novels, etc. I know finding the perfect book may be a daunting task, especially when you don’t know where to start. That is why I have compiled a list of books I have read (and recommend), and books I plan to read through Good Reads.
Click on my profile to check out my bookshelf. Keep in mind that you must create an account to do so. I encourage everyone to create an account as the website will filter all of your interests and generate books that suit your taste(s). Classmates can also “friend” you and check out what you've read and whether you thought it was hot or not. Let's have fun with reading!
